About Us
The deal is almost done...............Ou Kliphuis has been sold.
What seemed like really bad news has turned out to be quite good. All is not lost. The GOOD news is that the new owner is going to continue to run Ou Kliphuis as a guest house, and there is every possibility that we can still do some biking. There may be a few changes but for the most part the infamous Ou Kliphuis lives on, and the mountains, rivers and rocks are just where we left them. |

Spiro and friends return to Ou Kliphuis
Spiro & Neil, (two long time friends of Ou Kliphuis), brought a few “Newby’s” to Kliphuis to show them a different kind of ride. They were joined by Lee & Jason, who won a free biking weekend, in a competition at Russell Campbell. Friday night was one of the tamest parties we’ve had in Utaga Inn. With the exception of Spiro & Neil the guys were all very apprehensive, not sure what Saturdays ride would be like. Everyone got any early night & were fresh & strong on Saturday morning.
Martin Vierlig and Friends return to Ou Kliphuis
Martin Vierlig & his friends arrived at the Oude Stasie, Wakkerstroom, just after lunch on Friday. This usually indicates a BAD start to the weekend, but the guys just had a braai & then headed for Ou Kliphuis for an afternoon ride on the farm. After dinner, the evening was spent watching Moto-X DVD’s & getting prepared for Saturday’s ride.
Mr Blister and friends
Nick Hatfield & his band of “Merry Hooligans” descended on Wakkerstroom this weekend. This was the 8th trip for some of the guys (& they behaved no differently to the 1st time) The guys arrived at lunch time on Friday & proceeded straight to the Oude Stasie where they were detained, eventually arriving at Ou Kliphuis at 8pm. (after loosing a few cooler boxes on the road.) They then proceeded to “Party” until the early hours of the morning.
Mike Holtzhausen & mates
Mike Holtzhousen & his mates came to Ou Kliphuis for the weekend to do some biking. Being their first time the guys were a bit apprehensive, not knowing what to expect. Some of the group arrived early & went for a quick ride on the farm & then settled down to a few quiet beers. At about 7pm the microbus arrived with the balance of the group (the wheels had already come off) It had taken them 5½ hours to get here from JHB. After deciding to take it easy on Friday night, they proceeded to party into the early hours of Saturday morning.
